Like a Kid

So, 1st real blog. I’m not gonna get deep on all of ya right away, maybe keep it light so I don’t scare you all away (think of this as a beginning of a relationship, don’t show your true colors, no one will like you for you).

Living in NYC, you see a lot of weird shit all day err day [my gangsta side] And no, Im not gonna write about what weird kids I see every day. Cause honestly, I don’t see that many kids now that I think about it. It’s more about how the city is wasted on all these people that don’t know how to have fun with it. Everyone is always in such a hurry. And you tell yourself that when you move here, you will stop and stare at all the awesomeness around you, but somehow you join the robots without ever realizing it. What would kids do here? Even more, how would you act different in your everyday routine if you were a kid. AND WOULDN’T YOU JUST HAVE SOOO MUCH MORE FUN?!

I think a person’s most charming side is their playful child-like side. And I’m not talking about a spoiled child or some adult that doesn’t want to grow up [All of you Zooey Deschanel fans out there, you know who I’m talking about]. I’m talking about letting your fun side out. The side of you that doesn’t care about being a bit silly in order to enjoy life a bit more. I do it all the time. Yes, sometimes I get weird looks, but in reality no one hates a person that enjoys life at least once a day. And if you are like “that’s not true” right now, then you should stop wasting your time and get back to CNN.

So what I do, pretty much every day, whenever I pass something I can be a kid around, in my head I just imagine how I would act differently. Like getting to the subway here:

I would totally just slide my ass down. On top of all that, we use to take soo many more risks when we were kids and did we every break our neck? Hell no, obviously! It’s clear I lost a lot of brain cells but man, do I miss those days!! Not just that though, think about any of your favorite TV characters or people you love in your life. Why the fuck were they so likable? They knew how to let the kid outta them and still be grown-ups. Imma be a lawyer some day, I know that for a fact, a damn good one, but who the fuck said I can’t be silly sometimes and enjoy my life?!

I pass this every day and I still really badly want to climb that statute!!

Imma let that tomboy kid outta me. I suggest you do the same. Be a kid, enjoy it once in a while. Or just think about it. Or not…you know whatever you’re comfortable with.

I love a good attack…that’s what the comments are for. So get to it grown-ups!!

  1. Wow, you know exactly how to be blunt! I love it!
Very nice topic on your first post and I love how you incorporated the city you live in with the things you can do as a kid.
Sadly, yes tis' true. It's just that there are a lot more risks and things to consider nowadays. Things aren't how they used to be. But it's for people like you who non-conform to boring society and climb that statue or slide down that railing in their mid 20s that make the adult world a bit brighter. Haha :)

  2. I totally get what you mean. Its hard to be silly past a certain age without people judging you and criticizing (bc thats easy for ppl to do). I admire you for doing what you want, never take yourself too seriously and let loose once in a while :)

What did you mean by the Zooey Comment? I dont really watch her stuff...:)

  4. Oh I dont like her as an actress....and this just adds to it some more. Yeah, she was trying way too hard to be cute and kiddy and it just comes off as annoying and stupid. Theres a difference between actually doing something you loved as a kid and trying to act cute...she clearly doesnt know the diff lol
